GSAM2017 general title and welcome words

We very much welcome your participation in GSAM2017 Workshop. We would like to ask you to present your research work. We will exchange idea on severe plastic deformation and related materials. This workshop is organized with the following title:

Promoting Advanced Energy Materials by SPD and Phase Transformation

We look forward to seeing you at GSAM2017 in Fukuoka.

GSAM2017 Chairman
 Zenji Horita: Professor and Director,
International Research Center on Giant Straining for Advanced Materials
 (IRC-GSAM), Kyushu University

Co-chairman
 Kaveh Edalati: Assistant Professor,
International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER),
 Kyushu University

Scope

This workshop focuses on the significance of grain refinement, lattice defects and phase transformation on functional and structural properties of severely deformed materials. We will discuss the role especially in terms of electrical properties, hydrogen storage, catalytic and photocatalytic properties of metallic and non-metallic materials. The lectures on the history of severe plastic deformation (SPD) are also welcomed. The following keywords can be the subjects for the discussion in this workshop. We will welcome any presentations of the related research.

    electrical conductivity, superconductivity, magnetic properties,
hydrogen storage, mechanical properties, phase transformation
    lattice defects, grain boundaries,
high-pressure torsion (HPT), equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP),
ball milling (BM), accumulative roll bonding (ARB),
multi directional forging (MDF), ball milling (BM), etc.

Remark

GSAM2017 is held as an activity of the International Research Center on Giant Straining for Advanced Materials (IRC-GSAM) at Kyushu University.
